On the 1st, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency released the personal information of Chinese university lecturer Zhang Changsheng (31). He has been arrested on charges of murdering a 25-year-old Chinese female student, referred to as A, who was enrolled in his class, and dismembering her body. The police stated that they decided to disclose his personal information considering the brutality of the crime and the seriousness of the victim's situation.
Zhang Changsheng is accused of killing the victim in the early hours of the 20th in a one-room apartment in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan, and then dismembering her body and disposing of it in locations including Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, and Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province. He reportedly made false reports to mislead the investigation and dressed as a woman to move to Dongdaegu Station, where he turned off the victim's mobile phone.
The police have charged Zhang Changsheng with five offenses, including murder, body dismemberment, kidnapping, concealment, and obstruction of justice by deception. He was arrested on the 25th, and the police plan to transfer him to the prosecution by the 4th of next month at the latest.
