The death toll from the massive floods in Nepal has exceeded 1,000. This tragic figure was confirmed a week after the floods occurred, and the first land search for nine missing South Koreans is underway, but there are still no clear updates.
Rescue workers are conducting search operations in narrow tunnels, and the interior, confirmed by thermal imaging cameras, is filled with debris. A drone operator reported, "The mud and water from the flood have risen to 80-90% of the internal height," conveying a desperate situation. It is estimated that 570 people are missing at the construction site of the power plant.
The government joint rapid response team conducted joint searches on land and in the air with the Nepalese military, but no traces of the nine South Koreans have been found. The rapid response team plans to intensify search operations as soon as the overseas emergency rescue team dispatched by the South Korean government arrives in Kathmandu. The number of missing persons has now increased to over 4,400.
