A man in his 40s driving a Maserati while intoxicated caused a multi-vehicle collision in Gangnam, Seoul, leading to the death of a delivery driver. The accident occurred around 11:40 PM on the 27th at the Bangbang Intersection in Seocho-gu, where the man collided with a motorcycle, a bus, and a taxi in succession.
At the time of the accident, the man's blood alcohol concentration was confirmed to be at a level that would result in license revocation, and as a result, the 40s delivery driver riding the motorcycle was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately died. Additionally, three others, including bus passengers, the taxi driver, and a pedestrian, sustained minor injuries due to the accident.
The police urgently arrested the man at the scene and applied for an arrest warrant on the 29th. The Seoul Central District Court issued the warrant, citing concerns that he might flee, and the police plan to hand the man over to the prosecution after investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
