Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, raised criticisms on Facebook on the 2nd regarding Yong Hye-in, the candidate for Minister of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family from the Basic Income Party. Ahn questioned why taxpayers should fund a party that venerates Yong as a 'leader' and pointed out that Yong has refused to resign from her proportional representative position.
He asserted that the Basic Income Party is essentially dominated by Yong Hye-in alone, explaining that the party's leadership is composed entirely of individuals closely associated with her. Ahn emphasized that candidates for party leader and supreme committee members are either Yong's aides or family, criticizing this situation as detrimental to the party's democratic nature.
Additionally, Ahn condemned attempts by the Blue House and the Democratic Party to grant privileges to Yong and warned that if she were appointed as minister, the Ministry of Gender Equality would become another stronghold for her followers. He added that this situation exemplifies the current state of the Basic Income Party.
