Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yoon-cheol suddenly canceled his attendance at the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting in the United States. It is reported that he traveled to Incheon International Airport but ultimately did not board the plane.
According to government sources, Koo went to the airport on the morning of the 30th to attend the G20 meeting but did not take the flight to Asheville. As a result, all scheduled bilateral meetings with key figures such as U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Vessen were also canceled. This change in schedule is said to be unrelated to circumstances from the Ministry of Economy and Finance or the G20.
