President Lee Jae-myung's recent approval rating has been recorded at 38.9%, falling below 40% for the first time since taking office. This is according to a poll conducted by JoWon C&I, with the survey period from August 22 to 24. While the positive evaluation stands at 38.9%, the negative evaluation has exceeded half at 57.9%.
Looking at the details of the positive evaluations, 25.7% rated him as 'doing very well,' while 13.2% said he is 'doing fairly well.' In contrast, among the negative evaluations, 45.1% indicated 'doing very poorly,' and 12.8% said he is 'doing poorly.' Compared to the previous survey, the positive evaluation dropped from 42.9% to 38.9%, a decrease of 4.0 percentage points, while the negative evaluation rose from 54.1% to 57.9%, an increase of 3.8 percentage points.
When analyzed by region, only the Jeonnam-Gwangju and Jeonbuk areas recorded a positive evaluation exceeding the negative, with the highest figure at 65.3%. In contrast, Seoul had a positive evaluation of 34.9%, Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam at 34.2%, and Daejeon-Sejong-Chungcheong at 33.5%, all remaining in the 30% range. This survey was conducted using a wireless telephone automated response method, with a response rate of 3.8% and a margin of error of ±2.2% at a 95% confidence level.
