The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced that it will start construction on over 100,000 homes each year beginning in 2028. This plan is a measure to implement the government's housing supply policy and to revive the stagnant construction industry, with annual construction costs expected to reach approximately 30 trillion won.
LH aims to start construction on 50,000 homes this year (14.9 trillion won) and 76,000 homes next year (25.7 trillion won), with a target of an average of over 100,000 homes annually from 2028 to 2030. Additionally, housing projects utilizing idle land and school sites in urban areas are set to commence next year.
On the 27th, LH held a 'Housing Supply Briefing' at its Southern Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, inviting over 150 industry stakeholders. At this event, LH explained detailed plans regarding housing construction volumes, private cooperation projects, and the activation of modular housing, while also gathering feedback from attendees. LH President Lee Seong-hoon stated, "Collaboration with the private construction industry is crucial," and expressed commitment to increasing the pace of housing supply.
