The government’s helicopter searches to find a missing Korean national due to the severe flooding in Nepal have been conducted twice, but no survivors have been found. On the 29th (local time), Lim Sang-woo, head of the government joint rapid response team, stated in a briefing in Kathmandu that helicopters were deployed for the search, but access was difficult due to dense trees and steep terrain.
The rapid response team plans to expand the search area in cooperation with Nepalese authorities. Lim mentioned that they moved to areas where survivors are presumed to be, but could not land and had to return after only visual confirmation.
Additionally, Park Jung-won, chairman of Doosan Group, and Park Ji-won, vice chairman, have arrived in Nepal to support the search and rescue operations at the accident site. They expressed their commitment to work with the government response team to ensure the rescue operations proceed smoothly. The rapid response team intends to continue expanding the search area for the missing persons.
