Save the Children Launches Emergency Relief for 1,000 Households Affected by Major Floods in Nepal

Save the Children, an international non-governmental organization focused on children's rights, announced on the 28th that it has begun emergency relief for children and families affected by the recent major floods in Nepal. On the 26th (local time), sudden flooding occurred in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, causing significant damage in the regions of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan.

Save the Children plans to provide various relief supplies, including tarps, infant kits, mosquito nets, hygiene kits, blankets, cooking utensils, drinking water, and sanitation supplies, to 1,000 households in the Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading areas. On the day of the flood, relief supplies were prioritized for distribution to 150 households in Nuwakot, and they are preparing to quickly support up to 10,000 households using items stored in seven warehouses in the future.

Save the Children will also continue to provide additional support based on on-the-ground needs, including drinking water and sanitation, emergency shelter, health care, child protection, psychosocial support, and education. Furthermore, Save the Children Korea is conducting fundraising for emergency relief to assist children and families affected by the floods, with donations possible through the Save the Children website, Naver Happy Bean, and Kakao Together.
