In relation to the large influx of migrants into the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has claimed that Russia and Israel are linked to the spread of disinformation. In an interview with SER radio on the 31st, Sánchez stated, "Rumors and false information have spread on social media linked to Russia, Israel, and international far-right forces."
Spanish authorities have pointed out that a misinterpretation of a court ruling allowing migrants to remain in Spain after arriving in Ceuta has been a major cause of this situation. Sánchez also claimed that Russia and Israel are dissatisfied with the Spanish government's stance on the Ukraine and Gaza wars and are using the Ceuta situation to criticize Spain.
In response, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar refuted Sánchez's claims as "brazen lies," asserting that the spread of disinformation would not distract from Sánchez's failures in managing domestic issues.
