A shooting incident occurred at an outdoor dance party in Aarau, Aargau, Switzerland, resulting in one death and five injuries. According to CNN, the shooting took place around 2:30 AM on the 30th during a rave event at a horse racing venue. A 22-year-old woman was killed, and four men aged between 24 and 27, along with one woman, were injured and are receiving treatment in the hospital.
All six victims are residents of Switzerland, and the deceased woman is reported to be of Italian nationality. A witness stated that at first, they thought the sounds were fireworks, but after the music suddenly stopped, they heard gunshots.
The police are currently pursuing the suspect, and the exact motive for the shooting has not yet been revealed. Switzerland has one of the highest rates of civilian gun ownership in Europe, but shooting incidents are relatively rare. In a 2019 referendum, a proposal to tighten gun regulations was passed.
