The leadership of the People Power Party concluded a retreat for lawmakers ahead of the regular National Assembly session and resolved to fight against the government. At the closing ceremony of the '2026 People Power Party National Assembly Members' Retreat' held in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on the 28th, Chairman Jang Dong-hyuk and Floor Leader Jeong Jeom-sik emphasized the need for unity among their members and called for a fight against the government's policy drive.
Floor Leader Jeong Jeom-sik strongly criticized the current government's management of state affairs in his remarks. He stated, "I have never seen a government that destroys society as a whole and rampages solely for its own safety," pointing out that policies driven by ideology and obstinacy treat the people like laboratory rats. He also urged lawmakers to unite, emphasizing that "it is the mandate of the times for us to come together and fight against the government."
Chairman Jang Dong-hyuk highlighted the importance of achieving results for the people's livelihood and genuine reform, stating that creating a party that better cares for the people's lives is the essence of reform and innovation. He encouraged, "Let us gather our capabilities to the fullest to keep the promises made to the people and turn them into results," adding that sincerity is necessary to gain trust in party politics.
