Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced on the 1st that it has secured a total of 1.8213 trillion won through supply contracts for multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) for artificial intelligence (AI) servers by 2027. This contract includes a 1.0722 trillion won agreement with a global large enterprise, and the MLCC contract amount for next year is expected to increase to 1.8 trillion won.
The contract period runs from January 1 to December 31, 2027, and the contract amount corresponds to 9.5% of last year's consolidated revenue of 11.3145 trillion won. This is the largest scale among the long-term supply contracts for MLCCs that Samsung Electro-Mechanics has signed, and AI server MLCCs can be installed in server racks with up to 600,000 units, requiring durability in high-temperature and high-voltage environments.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics currently holds over 40% market share in the AI server MLCC market, and this year has announced a total of four supply contracts for AI components, exceeding 3.3783 trillion won, including contracts for silicon capacitors. A representative from Samsung Electro-Mechanics stated that this contract is a recognition of their technology and supply stability, and they will further solidify their leadership in the AI market.
